Anna Mei- my youngest sister has been in and out of the hospital. The past year not being able to eat anything except rice chex. She is down to 90 lbs and her skin is yellow. This is part of the sourness of life (as in the blogs title).
She is leaving the hospital today due no answers yet. So she continues to suffer with something we don't know. The test all come back normal- sweet Anna is just so calm through it all.
Yet she is in need of God's intervention to find out what is going on.
Grace and I had a sleepover with her in the hospital last night painted her nails and gave her a massage.
We continue to pray and search for answers-

Hair

I learned last week- do NOT use elastic hair bands in Nyah's hair! I shouldve known! They disintegrate because of the olive oil/coconut oil mix I use to spritz her hair in the mornings. So from the advice of a blog I follow called http://www.happygirlhair.com/ - I am off to find a different brand of bands and ordered a few new hair products from amazon to try.

I am excited to get them: Oyin Frank Juice and a few Alaffia products, hair lotion and conditioner: hopefully these products will let me use the elastic bands.

Beautiful Differences!

As I have been thinking and reading through a couple books I wanted to write a bit on the post I had written on Nyah and I's same characteristics. As much as we are alike we are also different. And differences are to be noticed and made beautiful.
For example: when we go to a different country it is easy to come back and say how comfortable we felt, how much we are thankful for what we have, can't believe how people in our age group act the same as us, etc. This can be a way for us to cope with the shock of a new culture, and not look deeper at how God has worked in us. It is easy to look at the more shallow aspects and not ask the questions as to how and why.
I think looking at the same characteristics Nyah and I have is a good thing, but I don't want to stop there! She has the most beautiful brown skin and curly black hair that only God our creator made. She wrinkles up her nose and throws herself back when she is upset. She has the most amazing little laugh and dance moves that only come from the Ethiopian culture.
We are so thankful for her birth family and the love they gave Aregash. She is an incredible blessing along with her big brother Grant. The are quite the pair when they play together!
